The problem with giving someone love coupons is they are usually never redeemed by the recipient, which gets you off the hook, and leaves the recipient feeling gypped. P.S. I Love You letters are action letters that require some creative, and strategic planning on your part. Of course, unlike the movie, P.S. I Love You, it’s better to do this while you’re still alive, so you can actually experience their reactions. :) The recipient of this gift is going to love this!
Your gift should include hand written letters from you, on nice paper, in nice envelopes. You can go to any arts and crafts store that sells stationary with matching envelopes sold by the individual sheet. The initial letter should explain that during the next month they will receive three Letters from you. Each letter will contain a surprise.
To add a little effect you can purchase the movie “P.S. I Love You” as part of the first gift.
P.S. I Love You
Plan three specific events: Each of these events will require the recipient to take action.
For example:
1. Meet Me Here: Figure out a creative way to deliver the letter to the recipient. In your letter request that the recipient get dressed up and meet you at a specific place that you indicate (for breakfast, lunch or dinner), on a specific date at a specific time. Make it someplace special that they love, but haven’t been to in a while, or someplace new for a new experience – even a picnic in a park. Provide some money for a cab, so they don’t have to drive, or have a friend pick them up and chauffeur them to the drop off destination. That way you can leave together. When they arrive, be sure to greet him or her with adoration on your face, and a compliment on how wonderful they look. Very Romantic!
2. Complimentary Ladies Night: Plan an outing for the recipient and two or three of her closest friends. You can purchase movie tickets in advance for the whole group and have the tickets waiting for them at the ticket booth. Send a letter to each of the women two days in advance explaining that she is the lucky recipient of a complimentary Chic Flick Ladies Night, and give all the details, time, place, name of the movie, and list who else is going to be there, etc.
3. A Night at Pampered Inn. This time lets make it for a male recipient. Deliver the letter to his place of work instructing him to stop off at the grocery store to pick up his favorite beverage, and clear his schedule for the remainder of the day (no work at home). If children are part of the household, make arrangements for the kids to be elsewhere for the evening (overnight). Make the night all about him and his favorite things to do. Have his favorite comfy clothes set out on the bed. Make his favorite meal, give him a nice massage, you get the idea…
