Starring: Ed Harris as Jackson Pollock (Radio, National Treasure), and Marcia Gay Harden (Space Cowboys, Mystic River). This is an excellent movie depicting the life of abstract artist, Jackson Pollock. Harris, who directed himself, deserves praise for effectively recreating Pollock’s last years and for learning to actually paint like Pollock. Harris isn’t faking it when he hunches over a blank canvas and splashes paint everywhere. The combination of the energized studio work, the music, and the dramatic acting make for excellent entertainment. A good addition to the art movie library.
